I love how with 2-3 inches of snow things around here pretty much shut down. “Oops, there’s frozen water coming from the sky, I can’t go to work/school because I can’t drive and have forgotten how to use public transportation. Oh well! Snow day!!” but with legit flooding everyone’s out there like “Get outta the road you stupid cops, a little rain won’t hurt you! We’re Oregonians for God’s sake!”
There should be a Shit Portland People Say video and it would go like this:
Flood: “It’s just a little rain!”
Hurricanes: “It’s just a little rain!”
Lightning/Thunderstorm: “It’s just a little rain”
Repeat of the Columbus Day Storm: “It’s just a little rain!”
Apocalyptic amounts of rain: “It’s just a little rain!”
Actually just a little rain: “What are you doing with an umbrella? It’s not even raining!”
